There are a few slides of pathological specimens and a few more of closeups but, remarkably, almost every one of the slides includes a sizeable portion of the face of the subject. This often is the case even for that patient whose malady might be restricted to the abdominal region or a lower extremity, such as these two remarkable images of a woman with advanced ovarian cancer. Obviously, identity issues would preclude these photographs from being taken today.
