Judging from the predominance of cancer images, it can be surmised that his practice included radiation treatment for breast cancer, an experimental procedure in his day. It is possible that he held a position in a teaching hospital, though not a major one, and compelled by a scholarly temperament he chronicled his work, especially when it involved Rx for radiation. The slides are almost perfect in condition so most likely they were not used for classroom instruction, but he might have intended to write a treatise on his work in nuclear medicine. In pre-world war 2 America the line between practitioner and researcher was not as sharply drawn as it is today.
