Rengade's first love was the writing of fiction under a pseudonym, Aristide Roger, but he probably earned a better living from his many scientific and medical vulgarizations, including one titled, "Les monstres invisibles." This work included a chapter on the pork flatworm (v. »»). Rengade was co-editor of the Revue photographique des hôpitaux de Paris during its first year of publication.
