Dramatic photograph of the lower leg of an epileptic who had sustained a burn injury during a seizure, resulting in a gangrene infection. The picture was taken a few days before the foot dropped off, a portion of the tibia exposed by a progressive stricture from the wound just above the achilles tendon. The patient recovered, the limb he left behind was presented to the Société anatomique.
