Notes :
Case of a 25 year-old male, who received a heavy blow to the precordial region of his chest when a heavy trunk he was loading onto a cart toppled over. He was treated at Pitié and released, but a month later he was back in the hospital, suffering from dyspnea, a rapid pulse and pericardial effusion. He died soon after and an autopsy revealed a needle lodged in his pericardium, the cause of a 25mm demilune wound in his heart. His heart was photographed with a piece of white paper under the needle.
