Significant advance in the culture medium used by laboratories to study tuberculosis. By introducing the hygroscopic property of glycerin into Koch and beef agar mediums, the authors were able to produce rapidly growing and florid colonies of the avian tubercle bacillus. The photograph displays several phials of cultures.
