Robert Ultzmann (1842-1889) seit 1872 in seinem Spezialgebiet der Urologie an der Wiener Allgemeinen Poliklinik beschäftigt, gehört zu den führenden Medizinern seiner Zeit auf dem Gebiet der Harnröhrenerkrankungen. Er führte eine exakte Methodik ein und erweiterte den Bestand seines Fachgebietes um zahlreiche noch heute gebräuchliche Instrumente.

Robert Ultzmann (1842-1889), an Austrian surgeon, was a pioneer in the study of urology. He introduced an exact methodology and developed equipment that is still in use today. Since our research has found no other copies of this photographic atlas by Ultzmann, we believe that it is most likely a prototype for the important work by Ultzmann and Hoffmann, "Atlas der Physiologischen und Pathologiscen," ¹ which was illustrated with 34 chromolithographed plates taken from microphotographs and published in 1871.

• Photos mounted two to a page with ornate captions and subject notes in calligraphy. Notes include enlargement data.
• Attributed to Ultzmann, attribution probably correct.
• Size of photos: 70 x 70 mm. to 108 x 108 mm.
• No other copies known, number of impressions probably less than ten.
