Subject : Surgery — Instruments and apparati; operating tables.

Notes :

We furnish in this month's issue of the Lancet a well-executed photograph of a table invented by us some years since, and which experience has proven to be the best that it has been our privilege to examine. Not only is it adapted to every operation in surgery or gynaecology, but its simplicity of construction and perfection of mechanism renders it inexpensive, and commends it to all.

No author is identified, but the collective identity indicated by the title word "Our" probably refers to Toland Medical School where Dr. A. B. Stout was the professor of surgery and Cole was dean. The photograph is a composite of four panels, each showing a different position of the manifold surface.
