Hunt did interesting work by introducing Darwinian science to comparative phylogeny studies of the sense organs. Plate II of this paper reproduces outline drawings of the human embryonic ear in four stages of development. Plate I reproduces outline drawings of the fetal pig. The uncaptioned photographic leaf represents deformity of the ear in three separate clinical subjects.
